American Legion Francy Burdett Post 70
Home of the Cardinal Shooters
Post 70 sponsors a Junior Shooting Sports Program (JSSP) for high school senior and younger youth who want to learn firearm safety, marksmanship, discipline and endurance required to excel in this program.
This national program of the American Legion, Indianapolis, IN utilizes the National 3-Position Air Rifle Rules created by the American Legion and several national shooting organizations to standardize air rifle competition. The shooters use .177” pellets in a 10 meter indoor range from standing, kneeling and prone positions. Competitive meets are held for local, state and national competitions. Participation is both for male and female together.
Marksmanship has been a national skill since colonial times and these students will gain an appreciation of the 2nd Amendment and how it helps defend our other freedoms.
